The Best Summer Walking Shoes for Every Foot Type (Podiatrist Recommends)

Summer isn’t kind to the wrong shoes. Between cobblestones, concrete, and 20,000 steps a day, your feet take a beating that your everyday trainers just weren’t built for.

I’m Paul, a British-trained Podiatrist based in Singapore, specialising in foot and ankle pain. In this video I walk you through the best summer walking shoes for five specific foot types — pronated, supinated, neutral, high arch, and flat feet — so you can stay pain-free no matter how much ground you cover this season.

Each shoe is matched to a specific foot type and tested against the same city terrains you’ll actually be walking on: hard pavement, uneven cobblestones, and long museum floors. No flimsy flip flops. No gimmicks. Just the right structure for your feet.

  1. Thank you for your valuable information re: supination & high arch. I’m wearing the Brooks Adrenaline GTS medium width,, which was most comfortable in my 20s, but now at 60, is uncomfortably tight & short. Didn’t know that feet continue to grow as I age. 😂

  2. Thank you so much is there any other options Mizo wave runner 9 woman sold out everywhere in my size I’ve also tried hooka ahari feels stable but very hot are there any others size 8 very common thank you for all you do

  3. Dear Dr. Paul, I was lucky enough to be born with flat feet. My ankle touches the ground, and I have mild supination. My feet hurt when standing or walking on a hard surface at the ankle. What walking tennis shoes would you advise? Thank you so much.

  4. They said On shoes like On Cloud 6 or cloudrunner 3 are best for walking due to how comfortable they are. What is your thoughts?
