8 Best Weightlifting Shoes 2025 | Picks for Squats & Big Lifts

READ MY ARTICLE:

Weightlifting shoes are a specific type of footwear built for the sport of weightlifting, squats, and lower body days (context-dependent).

Generally speaking, weightlifting shoes will last you quite a while if you take good care of them. Since you’re only wearing them for specific workouts, you can usually keep pairs in good health for 1-3 years, so I think they’re worth the investment for most lifters.

In my best weightlifting shoes round-up, I’ll cover eight of my favorite picks and discuss my rationale for why.

The beautiful thing about weightlifting shoes in 2024-2025 is that we have more options than ever.

We now have more premium options if you want top-tier quality, as well as a variety of marked-down options that perform surprisingly well despite their prices.

Again, I’d look at new weightlifting shoes as an investment, and if you take good care of them, I’m confident they’ll last you quite some time.

  2. My right ankle dorsiflexion is very weak so when i do squat bare foot I am not able to do properly and when i use plates under heel i am okay with it . ., When i do leg press with lower position my right leg heel comes off . So which weightlifting shoes you prefer for me i never used any of this

  3. I use a Notorious Lift Sumo Sole Gen 4. I don’t lift super heavy, but I like the shoe because it feels nice and grippy and somewhat locked down compared to other shoes that I wear. I also have a wide foot in the mid and toebox area. What would you recommend if I were to try something different? The Lu Xiaojun Lifter 1.0 is maybe a little too much for me in the looks department haha. I like the way some of the TYR’s look but I can’t recall if they were wide enough as it’s been a year or so since I last looked at them.

  4. Hey! Awesome review. I have a pretty specific foot profile with flat feet, a low instep, and a narrow heel (usually around size 45). Which weightlifting shoes or lifting shoes would you recommend for this foot type to prevent heel slippage and lock everything down securely?
